Itinerary
Saturday, July 31st - USA to Mombasa- When booking international flights, please be sure to arrive at Moi International Airport (MBA) in Mombasa before 4:00PM on July 31st.
- Upon arrival, transportation will be provided to local hotel for overnight accommodations. Orientation meeting scheduled for 9:00PM.
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Morning tour of downtown Mombasa. Participants will visit Fort Jesus (Portuguese fortress built in 1593), Biashara Street (vibrant markets ideal for shopping), and the Kamba Carvers village.
- This afternoon, group bus transportation will be provided to a developing village of the Samburu region (1-hour distance). CHOICE Co-Founder Dr. Jim Mayfield will join this special expedition. Participants will be greeted with a warm village welcome. Dinner will be served. Unpack and rest.
- Overnight in village.
- Breakfast served in village.
- Development projects scheduled throughout the throughout the week. Lunch to be served in the afternoon with a brief rest provided. Projects resume and continue into the evening. Dinner will be served. Village activities and entertainment will be provided each night to encourage a deep intercultural exchange between participants and native villagers.
- Overnight in village.
- Breakfast served in village.
- Projects and activities scheduled throughout the morning. Ceremonious village farewell scheduled in the afternoon. Group bus transportation will be provided back to Mombasa (1-hour distance). Participants will check-in to local hotel for overnight accommodations. This evening, a special dinner will be planned for the entire group.

- Time at leisure. For centuries, Mombasa served as a major trading center in the Arab world with strong Muslim roots still evident in modern Swahili culture. In 1498, Vasco da Gama was the first European explorer to discover Mombasa, now a popular travel destination in eastern Africa.
- Transportation provided to Moi International Airport (MBA) for return flights home.
