Luis Godoy was among the earliest of the trained and certified guides in Belize which has developed one of the most demanding of guide certification systems in the world. He was president of the Cayo Tour Guides Association for two terms. He has many years of experience in taking visitors among Belize's fantastic Maya sites, into its spectacular caves, down its exciting jungle rivers, into several ecosystems in search of birds and wildlife, in search of great photographs, and into the traditional Mayan communities. Luis guides in a way that provides a strong knowledgeable interpretation, while keeping a reverence for sacred places. He is also skilled at making sure that everyone is always safe and comfortable, while protecting natural and cultural sites from visitor impacts. Explore Belize Package
Day 1
Pick up at the international airport and travel West of Belize city for 2 hrs. through the various terrain, where you can see wetlands, Savannah, pine forest and rain forest with our final destination in San Ignacio for an overnight at an Eco-lodge with dinner included.
Day 2
Early morning home-made breakfast, while birding from the dinning area and get ready for first day of adventure. On this day we go 1 hr. by road to visit and explore the Barton Creek Cave with a canoe in side the cave. Learn about Maya History and Religious practices. After lunch, we drive 45 minutes from Barton Creek to the nearby Big Rock Falls for swimming and enjoying the pristine forest. Return to the lodge for overnight. B, L, D
Day 3
We travel 2.5 hrs South of the lodge, to visit the largest Mayan Ruin discovered in Belize, Caracol "Ox Witz Ha"(Osh Witz Ha). Hike around the excavated section of the Ruin with chances of seeing Howler Monkeys, Parrots, Toucans, Hawks, White nose Cuatí and other wildlife animals., lunch and drive back with a stop at the Rio Frio Cave and the Rio On Pools for swimming in front of cascades, return to lodge. Day 4
On this day we travel West for about 30 min. to visit Xunantunich (Shunantunich) which is accessible through a hand cranked ferry across the Mopan River. Lunch at a local traditional restaurant and after lunch head to the Caves Branch "Nohoch Chen" Cave System for cave tubing.
Day 5
For this day we will need our passports to visit our neighboring country, Guatemala and visit the largest Ruin in the Peten region, Tikal Maya Ruins with some chance of spotting Spider Monkeys & Agouti. And have some time to look for textiles and souvenirs. Return to the lodge for overnight after our full day activity. B, L, D
Day 6
Half day canoeing on the Macal River, while looking for birds, iguanas and wildlife in the area. Lunch in town and leisure afternoon to explore town or head back to the lodge to relax on a hammock.
Day 7
This active adventure day takes us throughout rain forest and riverbanks for an experience of a lifetime to the Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave. Inside this cave you will be seeing Ancient Maya Artifacts & Cave formations. Return to the lodge for overnight. B, L, D
Day 8
On this day, we travel back to Belize with a stop at the Belize Zoo, before the flight back home. Or for those interested, we can arrange an extension to the island of South Water Caye
